  • Karl Marx was the German philosopher who founded modern "scientific" socialism. He had basic ideas that contributed to socialist and communist movements throughout the world.

  • Leon Trotsky was a Russian socialist. He joined Lenin to lead the Bolshevik revolution in 1917. In 1918, he lead the Red Army in the Civil War. in 1927, Trotsky was expelled from the Communist Party. He was then deported from the Soviet Union.

  • Vladimir Lenin. In March of 1917, Lenin issued his "April Theses" which stated that political power would be transferred to the soviets. He established a "dictatorship of the working class". When war struck between the Communists and the anti- Communists, the Communists won. In 1922, Vladimir Lenin ruled the Soviet Union until January 21, 1924(when he died).

  • The KGB was a union of Soviet Socialists Republics

  • Joseph Stalin was the second leader of the Soviet Union

  • Pravda was a newspaper in Russia that announced main topics such as the day that Czar Nicholas ll and his family were killed by the secret police of Bolshevik.
